Keane acquires AMTEC Consulting and CyberFicient
Boston, MA – April 27, 2010 - Keane, a U.S.-based IT services firm, has announced the acquisition of both AMTEC Consulting Plc. in the UK and CyberFicient Technologies, Inc. in the U.S. These acquisitions signify solid growth in Keane’s public sector business.
“Both of these acquisitions bring tremendous opportunities for our U.S. and UK Public Sector divisions,” said John McCain, president and CEO of Keane. “AMTEC and CyberFicient have both built excellent reputations and strong relationships in their respective geographies and markets and will make significant additions to the Keane family, while reinforcing our position in the public sector.”
AMTEC is an independent advisory consultancy that helps all types of public sector clients realize benefits from their investment in business and information systems-enabled change through consulting, consulting resources and interim management services. This acquisition will provide AMTEC’S existing clients with access to extended capabilities and resources utilizing Keane’s world class delivery model and robust offerings.
“Strategically, this acquisition allows Keane to significantly enhance its presence and profile with public sector clients in the United Kingdom, and materially increases the size of our overall business,” said Ian Miller, executive vice president of Keane EMEA. “The experience and resources within AMTEC provide Keane excellent leverage as we look to expand our capabilities and footprint in the UK public sector. Overall, this is a smart addition to our business offering tremendous synergies to our organization.”
CyberFicient, based near Austin, Texas, offers enterprise Java consulting, staffing services, and human service solutions to the public sector. The acquisition gives Keane the ability to compete for business in Texas, significantly expanding its local governmental footprint.
“The CyberFicient acquisition provides us great opportunity and room for growth specifically in the state of Texas,” commented McCain. “Keane already has an outstanding presence on both a state and local government level, and this new addition gives us an even greater ability to serve this market.”
