Research hospitals require a unique process for planning their yearly budget which accounts for the varying sources of revenue, and the tracking of revenue streams across the different funding sources matched with associated costs. This presentation will describe how their current operating budgeting process has been expanded to encompass their Research Foundation process, and the integration of the Hospital budgeting cycle with the Research Foundation cycle to provide a shared set of information. Included in the discussion will be the overview of how BPC handles revenue projections by department, fund, and project and how security requirements were met for detailed employee salary planning.
